Unlike most of my projects, which I work on for joy and to solve a problem I have, Be I/O was an app I wanted. (So, unlike my side projects, I mostly vibe-coded Be I/O. It was amazing until it wasn’t.)

WHO guidance is to “avoid” being outdoors when the AQI is above 100 except for folks in “sensitive groups”.

I have no idea what I’m supposed to do with that information if I don’t have asthma or respiratory issues, but I am planning on doing VO2max intervals or a 3 hour long run.

You breathe about ten times as much air running hard as you do at rest, and less when you’re sleeping. A concentration on its own knows nothing about that.

Be I/O takes away the fuzziness of that guidance and makes it very clear, based on actual numbers.

I also really like the name :P
