at long last, i am nearing completion of my online photo gallery. for some time now, i've been posting my photos to flickr, and have recently become rather dissatisfied with their services and somewhat disturbed by certain people who chose to make sexually explicit comments on photos including close friends of mine. so, i decided to start from scratch and build my own version.

i consider myself to be merely an amateur photographer, taking pictures when i feel the desire to and editing them on my beloved macbook pro. though i have been interested in photography on and off since high school, i credit my passion for photography primarily to nick simonite and ben fox, two good friends with whom i've spent much time traveling, being jealous of their pictures and ability to capture the same scene a hundred times better.

i shoot on a nikon d70s with the occasional sony cybershot or my iPhone. my lenses include a nikkor 18-70mm and a sigma 10-20mm F/4. i have always edited on adobe lightroom and adobe photoshop, but have recently made the jump to apple aperture for not only editing tools, but also organizational power and overall mac integration. i still use adobe photoshop for high powered edits, as nothing really compares. for HDR photos, i use photomatix.

regarding the site: known bugs include iconsistancies in sorting (some pages order by date taken, others by date uplaoded), viewing images ordered by favorites ("interestingness") does not display thumbnails in stream. things yet to come include RSS feeds as well as better searching methods
